Short answer

beehiiv's help center describes the behavior plainly: after you update a paid tier's price, it applies to subscribers who join afterwards. Existing subscribers keep their current price unless they cancel and resubscribe. There's no "apply to existing subscribers" toggle.
Your paid subscriptions are Stripe subscriptions in your own Stripe account, and each one points at the price that was current when the reader subscribed. A new tier price means a new Stripe price, and existing subscriptions don't move until someone moves them.
What beehiiv creators run into
- No documented route at all. beehiiv's help center says existing subscribers stay at their current price unless they cancel and resubscribe. It offers no support request and no migration tool.
- Warnings that make people wary of Stripe. beehiiv warns against editing prices in Stripe's product catalog, and many creators take that to mean they shouldn't touch Stripe at all. Moving a subscription onto a price beehiiv already created is a different kind of change.
- Price gaps grow. Without a way to move existing subscribers, every tier increase adds another group paying the old rate.

1. Update the tier price in beehiiv
Edit the paid tier and set the new monthly, quarterly and/or annual price. beehiiv supports several currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD and others). Each currency you sell in has its own price to migrate.
2. Announce it
Send a paid-only email with the new price, the date it applies, and why. Neither Stripe nor beehiiv sends a price-change notice for you.
3. Install the app in the right Stripe account
Install the Change Subscription Price App in the Stripe account connected to your paid subscriptions, not the separate Express accounts beehiiv uses for Ad Network payouts or plan billing. Because beehiiv created these subscriptions, the app asks you for a restricted API key. Stripe doesn't let another app modify them otherwise. The user guide walks through it.
4. Run a small test batch
Move a few subscriptions from the old price to beehiiv's new price for the same interval. Confirm the upcoming invoice in Stripe (new amount, same renewal date), then check those subscribers in beehiiv: still paid, same tier. beehiiv doesn't document how its revenue reports treat a price moved in Stripe, so look there too before the full run.
5. Run the full job
One job per interval: monthly old → monthly new, annual old → annual new. Run it on the date given in your announcement.
6. Check the report
Download the job's CSV, confirm every row updated, and re-run anything that failed. Don't archive the old price afterwards; beehiiv asks you not to.
Which subscribers to leave out
- Pay-what-you-want subscribers set their own amount.
- One-time payment purchases aren't recurring.
- Comped or discounted subscribers, if you promised them their rate.
